About Your Instructor
William (Coach Bill) Hall grew up at his family's archery range, being exposed to, and trained in, all aspects of the highest levels of archery by his family of World and National Champion archers.
At the age of 11, young "Billy" began his own journey as a competitive archer. In the years to follow, he has won more than 40 State Championship events, 11 U.S. Eastern Regional Championships and a National Junior Championship. He has also taken home top honors at many other major archery tournaments, including the Las Vegas Open and Atlantic City Archery Classic. Successful with both a recurve and compound bow, he has set, and still holds, several State, New England and U.S. Eastern Regional scoring records, and was an Olympic Trials competitor in 1992. He is the current State and New England Champion, and finished 3rd in the 2016 NFAA National Indoor Championship. KFAP is also proud to announce that Coach Bill has joined the National Field Archery Association Board of Directors, as the representitive from Connecticut.
In 1999, Coach Bill founded a traveling archery school, that he ran until 2007. This archery school hosted programs in 21 towns throughout Connecticut, through the local recreation departments. At it's height, these programs taught over 1000 students per year. These classes also gave birth to a very successful tournament archery team that captured dozens of State, New England and U.S. Eastern Regional championships, with four of his students having won National Junior Championship events.
In 2008, Bill took a job as a profit center manager with Travel Centers of America, and sold his archery school to a former student. However, his true passion has always been sharing the sport he loves with young people. After one of his former archery sponsors asked him to assist at the Archery Trade Show in January of 2014, Bill realized how much he missed the sport that had given him so much for so many years. He began shooting again, and revived some of his parks and recreation programs.
The opening of the KFAP training center marks the next phase of a long and successful archery career. Most importantly, it gives Coach Bill the oportunity to share his knowledge with a new generation of archers, helping them build confidence, make new friends and learn life lessons that they can carry with them to help them become champions in anything they do in life.
Coach Bill is experienced in all three main styles of shooting Olympic Recurve, Compound and Traditional
